ENDLESS SUMMER

Wouldn't that be nice?
Well...sorta. A new season means new accessories, so...I'll have to admit to enjoying THAT.

Speaking of, lots of new-new work on my bench and on my process boards. I'm super stoked to revamp my shop, and stuff it full of fresh designs. So soon.

In the meantime, there'll probably be crickets around here on the blog (that's new), but crickets ARE summery, so I guess it works.

Have a great, summery weekend!

Xo,

I'm also celebrating 100 listings, and the recent release of my SILVER STACKING BANGLES, so there's lot's of happy dancing going on. Join me?

Visit my shop > SOFT GOLD STUDIO or just say hey (and tell me what wrinkle cream YOU recommend) in the comments. I'd love it!

Enjoy!

HONORED // berries & brass on creature comforts

Oh, hey....giddy post!
The lovely Ez of Creature Comforts Blog recently acquired one of my Tribal Skinny Cuffs–and she took the time to blog on it (eep, so awesome!), adding some delicious finds and reflections. Have a look-see!

Ez's blog was one of the very first that I followed incessantly when I moved back stateside–when I discovered blog-land and Etsy-land–and it certainly played a role in the development of this dream of mine. To see SGS there is just...amazing to me! Thanks again, Ez!

Woot! Back to the bench to...you guessed it, make lots of new cuffs!

THRIFT BLISS // happy FRYE-day

This is happening! A post...an outfit + THRIFTING post.
Whoa. I know.

So the other day, I got this really awesome notification. You see, I'd found them. Finally. Boots. THE boots. Boots that I have been searching for going on a year. Tall. High quality. Leather. Flat(ish). Brown. Unique, but not overtly trendy...boots to have and to hold forever. Boots made for walkin'. I was looking for my boots. And I found them: the most gorgeous pair of original Frye boots from the 70s at Luncheonette Vintage. MINE! I called them. They had to be mine.

But you see, I was jazzed. Vintage high, ya'll. I love vintage, and wear little else, but it had been many a blue moon since I'd had the time/chance to do the digging, since I'd experienced that golden moment of having found a real treasure, and a total steal at the same time. Finding my perfect boots exhilarated me, and I wanted MORE. So I went on a little binge, waiting for my shipment, and I found these:

Shut up, get out. Perfect tribal-esque sandals, and (teehee, coinkidink) they are Fryes, too. Two-dolla-forty-cent Fryes. Can you even get fries for that anymore? (See what I did there? Guffaw.)

The biggest box ever came the very next day, and it was a happy Friday indeed, a double happy Frye day. So I played dress up, and, you know, did some prancing.

Welp, that was fun. Thanks for indulging me in my happy dancing. Many thanks to the wonderful and lovely Jana at Luncheonette for being such a pleasure to work with. Be sure to go check out what she's got cookin' - especially this weekend as she's running a sale!

Ok, it's back to the bench for me. Have a spectacular weekend, everyone!

SOFT GOLD / honored via Etsy

Oh, my, lookie there!
I'm honored that my 'Tribal Skinny Cuff' was including in this downright INSPIRING fashion (and MOM-centric) post on the Etsy blog. How brilliant is that? I love this ensemble, and all the pieces featured. There's no doubt in my mind I was born in the wrong decade, and I'm so so 70s....ah, this is perfect!

You can read the full article and check out some other decades + fab Etsy finds HERE.

Many thanks to Gabriella Cetrulo – who by the way has the most amazing vintage shop herself, hot damn! – for including my work in her article!

More soon!

SOFT GOLD // I'm in the Moo(d)!

I just got confirmation that my Moo Minis are on their way!
I'm pretty anxious to get my hands on them & see how they turned out. I designed them as hang tangs for the pieces of SOFT GOLD that will go out into the world, and which will be available in brick & mortar shops...eeeep! I'm starting to wholesale. It's mad exciting!

For now I'll continue to hand-make my business cards, but I am tickled to see my work 'in print' as it were. Thoughts on the designs?

Oh. And I got stickers made, too. That way I can finally smack one on my forehead to announce that I am, indeed, a part of my own identity system. Ha.

Happy Saturday, all!

SOFT GOLD // I'm so honored.

It hadn't even crossed my mind; maybe I hadn't gotten that far...
When I started blogging last year, in a sort of eager, honest (naive) way...well, there I was, making inspiration boards and posting things that inspired and delighted me, for no real audience, just, you know...to do it. To get the ball rolling. My real dream was to start a line of jewelry, but I was SO SHY about it, and it's true: I kept it to myself for a long time.

Lurch forward a year, and the SGS Etsy Shop hums away, I've made the front page on Etsy a dozen or so times (what?!) (yeah, didn't think that would happen, either...can't believe I didn't blather about that first time on the blog here; clearly, I was speechless). But the truly wonderful thing that I really never even thought to consider was that MY work would be featured on others' blogs. I just...never thought of that. Maybe my dream sorta stopped at establishing my line and opening up my shop? That's strange, no? Maybe things just started to happen real fast, all together, and I never paused to dream about what was next? Guess I'll have to find the time to dream on

The point is, I AM SO HONORED and literally beside myself to find little pieces of SOFT GOLD sprinkled about on the interwebs. It's rather unbelievable to me. Happy dance, right?

My effervescent, jubilant thanks to Kelli at All Things Inspiring (who, btw, is the most amazing illustrator, check her shop: KelliMurrayArt) and Jaclyn at Some Notes on Napkins. I'm grateful + super delighted + really amazed by the company I keep on your blogs. THANK YOU!

All ya'll should click on the images above, so you can (a) check out 2 great blogs, and (b) see the credits for the other amazing pieces that grace this page.

Back to making. Happy Monday, everyone!

TODAY // hi.

I done did disappeared!
I just read a smattering of other blog posts (awesomeness here & my girl Jess here) which have addressed the issue of "oh my goodness my life took over and I haven't blogged in FOREVER..."

So I thought I'd add to the fray.

It's rather like I went to NY and to the midwest last month and I left my blogging bone somewhere. That, or it's just been crazy in the studio of late (crazy WONDERFUL that is, but still, CRAZY) and I've done a piss poor job about sharing news and newness and things in general...at least here on the blog.

Until I find my sea-legs and adjust to busyness & general good fortune in terms of SOFT GOLD (I know, I should share - working on it), I'd love it if you tweeted at me (@softgoldstudio), or follow my Facebook page where I do post mini-updates and exclamations as they strike me.

As always,

Xo,

PS // Did you take a look at that trunk? It was my Grandfather's from WWII and Korea. Amazing. So rich with history. My Puzzle Piece Pendants, the first pieces of SOFT GOLD that came into existence (before soft gold was soft gold, ye kin) have brought me such luck...they're helping me get found. I think I'll share on that...next time!
