COLOR STORY // coffee, cream, brownies + me

How many times can I go into the same coffee shop, day in and day out? I bet you've been wondering that yourself. Right? It's like, first you think that maybe you should change it up, go to different coffee shops, mix up the routine...you don't want to be so obviously ALWAYS THERE, nor appear to be manically consuming caffeine. Again. So, yes, sometimes I do change it up, ie. different coffee shops for different moods, different people-watching experiences, different outfits. It's my blog. Not gonna lie about the outfit bit. You're not surprised, anyway.

Alas, my friends, this has not been the case for me today. Yeppers, third time's the charm for me at this particular haunt of mine, et voilĂ : a caffeine-induced bout of blogging FINALLY comes to fruition. MORE coffee, cream (unusual for me, but the barista commiserated...sometimes change is good), and BROWNIES.

I heart brownies, and as much as I love to surprise my sister with a late-night plate of them, I'm not talking about the kind that crumble today. I love KODAK brownies. I came across the first in my little collection at some point in college, picking it up for next to nothing in a dusty junk-shop somewhere in Iowa. I remember developing the film that was left inside, the incredibly fuzzy and deteriorated images of children on horseback that we managed to pull from the (truly) vintage film. I loved the square shape, the quality of the bakelite plastic, how you look down to peer through the view finder...I loved the idea of it as an object. I found a new one today; it looks just like the middle camera above.

And so I sum up my day: it was warm and even-keel. And not so technicolor that I lost sight of what was in front of me--upside-down and backwards though it often is, particularly when seen through my somewhat skewed, personal lens.

I'm blathering. Let's see how calling it a night works on all this caffeine. ;)

Xo
