I've been REELING from this past weekend, folks.
Reeling from an abundance of gratitude, from happiness, hard work, excitement, joy...and from having the opportunity to connect and to share my work with so many amazing people in such a short time.
The Millheim show was an astounding success in my book, but boy, did it take it out of me! I spent Sunday in a completely vegetative state, however I'm happy to report that it's all-systems-go again here at the studio.
It was pretty powerful for me to be able to set up my whole line in a presentation "in real life," and to then step back to have a look. How much fun was it to drag so many bits and pieces from my studio-space to quaint-as-a-button Millheim, PA, in order to set up a booth that would completely reflect my aesthetic? I had a ball "playing house," arranging my favorite tchotchkes, hanging embroidery hoops, and all manner of this and that, in order to create a backdrop that is resoundingly SOFT GOLD. Ahhh! It was so me, and in that I found a great feeling of success and accomplishment. It felt like such an achievement to have reached a cohesive wholeness in my work thus far, and then to so publicly share a bit of that vision. Just awesome.
The Penns Valley area is populated by such a charming bunch!
Hands-down the best part of the show was having the opportunity to meet so many incredible people, and to receive some exposure that I wouldn't have gained otherwise. I was delighted by the extremely gratifying opportunities I had to talk about my work and processes. I also found much pleasure (of course!) in watching my pieces find new homes. =)
I'd like to take a moment to especially thank my sister Joanna, who goes above and beyond to be there for me. She was the rock by my side, the perfect assistant, friend, and companion-in-mischief all throughout the show...and before, and after. How much do I love having such an amazing #1 fan, and supporter? I couldn't have done it without her! (Thank you, Pickle.)
So YAY for new clients, new friends, and an all-around wonderful experience. Here's to more hugging for my friends that came out to offer support. You're the best. My thanks also to Erin Condo McCracken and to
Ecovents for pulling together such a successful event. I can't wait for the next one!
